The Victron SmartShunt is an all in one battery monitor that uses your phone as the display. You can see all monitored battery parameters, like state of charge, time to go, historical information and more without the need for any extra wiring or panel space for a display. Just connect your phone via Bluetooth, download the Victron Connect app and away you go!

The SmartShunt is a good alternative for a BMV battery monitor, especially for systems where battery monitoring is needed but less wiring and clutter is wanted.

Add a GX device with a VE.Direct Cable for full system monitoring in Victron's VRM portal, so you can check your system remotely rather than just standing next to it. It stores 46 days of voltage, current, state of charge and aux data, so you can look back at trends, not just the current number.

The SmartShunt also has an auxiliary input that does one of three jobs: track a second battery's voltage, monitor midpoint balance across a bank, or read a temperature sensor.

Available in 300A, 500A, 1000A and 2000A models, each with an IP65 waterproof option. Comes with a 5 year manufacturer warranty and includes the connection cables with fuse.

Which SmartShunt do I need?

Match the shunt to the maximum current your system will ever pull through it, not your average draw. It's rated for continuous accurate measurement up to that ceiling, so leave headroom for surges.

  • 300A - good for smaller setups where you're not going to see any surges.
  • 500A - the most common choice for caravan, marine and off-grid setups under 5kW.
  • 1000A - for larger battery banks, 24V/48V systems, bigger house battery systems or setups with multiple high-draw devices (bigger inverters, welders, winches) running simultaneously.
  • 2000A - used for heavy-duty systems, multiple large battery banks or high-current industrial and commercial setups.
  • IP65 versions - same electronics, sealed housing, pick these for engine bays, under-floor battery boxes, or anywhere moisture is likely.
